Newsletter

Subscribe to Fiction University and receive:

The newsletter for tips, tricks, and advice about writing, being an author, and the crazy world of publishing.

Throughout the year, I'll share advice and tips for writers at every level. You'll get:
  • Articles to help you improve your writing
  • Tips on marketing and promotion
  • Advice on managing the writing life
  • News on events, appearances, and new releases from me
  • Heads Up notices of writing-related deals, events, and programs

Heads Up emails with offers on great deals.

Four or five times a year I'll send a short (no longer than a week, tops, and you can opt out if you'd like) flurry of emails about writing tools or courses I think might interest and benefit you. I'm an affiliate for Infostack, which offers a terrific writers' bundle or two every year, as well as the occasional summit, class, or webinar from Brian Berni, Alex Limberg, and Gabriela Pereira.

Advance notice of my workshops and online classes.

I present at conferences and events all over country, as well as do online workshops (these have all gone virtual for the foreseeable future).

As a big “thank you!” for signing up, you’ll also receive my book, 25 Ways to Strengthen Your Writing Right Now (PDF format).

Join today!

Quick note...sometimes it can take up to thirty minutes for the welcome email with the free PDF to reach you, so please be patient if it doesn't show up right away. If more than an hour passes and still no email, check your spam filter, and if it's not there, email me and I'll get you added manually.

  5. One of my writing buddies just recommended your blog post, 5 Ways to Keep Your Protagonist Proactive. It might as well have been written with my current protagonist in mind. You may have just saved him and me from grave disappointment. Thank you.

  7. Thank you for your article on WITS on 5 Ways Your Story Hurts Your Novel. I just received a rejection letter that advised me that my book was good, but lacking depth. You have helped me regain some focus, thank you!

  10. I can fully understand. I went through 3 years of treatment for mantle cell lymphoma and am now battling actue lymphoblastic leukemia. It has slowed down my writing some.
