As self published authors, we all know how difficult it is to be your own marketing guru. The posts, the updates, the sheer amount of time it takes to put your book out there and keep it out there- it’s a long process! Especially when your series has been out there for a year or two, and you’re working on the next installment. So, what are some good ways to keep your book babies marketed and relevant? Let’s look at a quick round up of some awesome tips and find out!


1. The Independent Publisher: Show Your Book Love!


This article is by Lauren White, a History and English graduate from the University of Michigan. She had tons of great tips about reviving your series, including reaching out to new target audiences and heating up your social media!

2. Reviving a Stale Book


I don’t know about stale, but this article from the Huffington Post definitely shows you how to give an old book some new sales! Penny talks about how you can revive your book by releasing it as an ebook and maybe in an ebook bundle, which are awesome ideas!

3. Top 5 Marketing Tips for Indie Authors


Another Huffington Post article, and it’s a good one! These are the Top 5 Marketing Tips for Indie Authors, for both newly released books and ones that have been on the shelf for a while. If you’re looking to revive your series, starting with these 5 basics would be a pretty great idea. 

4. Advanced Marketing Tactics for Indie Authors


This article, by Publishers Weekly, is extremely interesting because it delves into deeper marketing topics for Indie authors! Lots of good info and definitely a helpful read.

5. Lessons Learned from Best Selling Indie Authors on Writing and Book Marketing


This one is pretty fun, because it has quotes from various Indie authors on it! Some comical, some serious, and all very helpful.

Remember- just because that book/series has been on the shelf for a little while, doesn’t mean it can’t still sell! Show your story some love by trying out these new revival marketing strategies, and maybe they’ll come in handy!
