It's the first Sunday of the month, and you know what that means. Writing prompts!
The chain story seems to be everyone's favorite, so I can't help doing one again. I’ll give you the first line, and someone else comments and builds off that line. Next commenter will build off that line, and so on.
In the event of two commenters posting at the same time and sending the story in different directions, just pick the line you like best, or try to incorporate both if you can.

PS: Actually, that's what it looked like a week ago. It's much messier now since that's the staging area for the upstairs woodwork. Sawdust. So. Much. Sawdust.

When you decide to remodel, they don't tell you your stress level will reach its limits. Besides the mess and noise, the mistakes made that aren't part of your plan put you over the top. For instance...
ReplyDelete...when you accidentally tear out a load bearing wall. It all seemed so straight forward, tear out the wall and enjoy the resulting wide open space. But once we took that wall out we heard the house emit a groan and the ceiling sagged noticeably.
ReplyDeleteIt made me regret the day I brought home that bedraggled kitten. But it had seemed so desperate, with its wide eyes and matted fur - how could I have resisted? But if I had known it would lead to thousands of dollars in home repairs, I might have left it there.
