I'm hard at work on a new project I'm excited about (which I'll share in a few months when it's ready). To assist with this, I'd deeply appreciate hearing how the site, or even me personally if we've interacted at a conference or online, has helped you with your writing.
Aside from helping me fine-tune the new project to best serve writers, it would also be nice to have some testimonials and success stories for the whole marketing and promotional side of things (and yes, for those wondering, it is hard to ask this, but that's the biz).
Long or short, any size is fine, and a mix of lengths is actually perfect. You can leave a comment or email me if you prefer.
If there's a particular way you'd like to be identified if I use your quote or story, please use that in your comment, such as:
"Nice quote about Fiction University!" --Bob W.
"Wonderful story about Fiction University!" --Jane Smith
"Super nice quote about Fiction University!" --Sally West, author of Why Did it Have to be Zombies?
Than you so much, everyone. You guys are the best.
This site has provided excellent writing tools for myself as well as my students. Carol Baldwin
ReplyDeleteI never understood point of view until I got your book. This should be the first reference book aspiring writers buy.
ReplyDeleteFiction University has helped, especially the diagnostic posts.
ReplyDeleteThe diagnostic posts were extremely helpful when I submitted a few years back. The feedback was great and reading through current submissions and the feedback is often enlightening.
Thanks so much! And I'm glad you found it useful :) Hard to believe I've been doing those for so long.
DeleteI am literally editing with your revising book and the help of this site. i've learned so much and in great detail with examples too. I have not encountered another site or youtube channel that matches this site.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! So happy the book is helping you :)
DeleteI can't even begin to list all the ways your blog has advanced my writing skills. Every aspect of my writing has improved due to your spot-on, articulate articles, your diagnostics, your advice, your guest bloggers, your personal attention to your obviously devoted readers. Such a valuable asset for writers and your so kind to provide it for free.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteYour blog has taught me SO much. I honestly don't know where my writing would be without it. About two years ago, I Google-searched all your guest posts on other blogs, because they are always super informative with clear, concise language. THANK YOU.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHello Janice, like most of the above comments I to have benefited from your constant blog. Each morning when I look at my inbox yours is the first email I open. So many times the subject has been directly related to what I'm writing at the moment. Someone asked me recently what study have I been doing (I'm a new writer) and I tried to explain what I've been learning and how.....in the finish I just said go to this blog and you'll see. I've submitted four short stories over the last 2 years and each one has benefited from the learning I've done with you (and one was shortlisted - wow-). I bought your book (Planning Your Novel)2 years ago and it's looking a bit dogeared now. I don't know exactly what I can say to you that will translate into what an influence you have had on what I love to do....write....!! THANK YOU and please don't stop what you're doing. Jan Bull
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! That's awesome about the shortlisted story. Grats!
