This week’s prompt focuses on an exercise designed to work on a particular skill or technique, such as a POV exercise or character builder. Today’s skill: onomatopoeia.
Write a scene using onomatopoeia as a dramatic element.
It can be funny or serious, as long as the sound helps move the scene forward and causes action in some way.
If you need a reminder what onomatopoeia is, read this first.
Not an easy exercise, but I'm reminded of an excellent sketch by the Monty Python team. Search online for 'Woody and Tinny Words' by Monty Python and watch them play with onomatopoeia (and the British class system!).
