Writing Prompt: The Chain Story: Stripe Right

By Janice Hardy, @Janice_Hardy

This week’s prompt is a chain story! I’ll give you the first line, and someone else comments and builds off that line. Next commenter will build off that line, and so on.

In the event of two commenters posting at the same time and sending the story in different directions, just pick the line you like best, or try to incorporate both if can.

Not every man could wear stripes, and Kevin proved it.

Let the fun begin.

  1. The zebra was prancing around the field, showing off his newly groomed coat. well, a newly groomed coat with a horrendous stripe pattern.

    1. How did other guys pull this off with aplomb? When he looked in the mirror all he saw was Gomez Addams.

  2. Trudy and Amanda huddled close together watching the activities on the field and Trudy snickered, "He can change his clothes, but a tiger can never change his stripes."

  3. Amanda nodded, then shot up from her bleacher seat, hands cupped around her mouth. "Hey Kev, the stripes on your shirt are wrong. Criminals wear horizontal!"

  4. "At least I earned my stripes!" Kevin hollered back. "Where are yours?"
