Announcing the Indie Author Column

By Janice Hardy, @Janice_Hardy

With indie publishing, writers have more publishing options than ever before. Traditional houses, small presses, digital only, self publishing--and those options continue to grow. There's no one path to take anymore, and personal preference plays a large role in a writer's publishing decision.

Since this site is dedicated to helping writers grow, it made sense to launch a weekly column that focuses on the ins and out of indie publishing.

Starting tomorrow, you'll find articles every Thursday about indie publishing--from deciding if it's right for you to the technical discussions and examples of how to do it. Just like the writing articles get into the nitty gritty about writing, so will this new column explore indie publishing.

I'm thrilled to introduce my contributing authors for this new column.

Jordan McCollum

Jordan is an award-winning author who can't resist a story where good defeats evil and true love conquers all. In her day job, she coerces people to do things they don’t want to, elicits information and generally manipulates the people she loves most—she's a mom. Jordan holds a degree in American Studies and Linguistics from Brigham Young University. When she catches a spare minute, her hobbies include reading, knitting and music. She lives with her husband and four children in Utah. Her books include, I, Spy, Spy for a Spy, Mr. Nice Spy, and in her writing craft series, Character Arcs
