Anyone Going to RWA?

I'll be down in Orlando, FL next weekend for the Romance Writers of America conference. Not as a presenter or anything, just for fun and education, but if you happen to be going as well, and see me, stop and say hello.

For those of you thinking, "RWA? She doesn't write romance," you're totally right. But RWA is a fabulous organization for writers and their conference is jam packed with helpful sessions for the beginning writer up to the pro. I'm all for continuing to work on my craft and learn whatever I can to make me a better writer.

And I get to hang out with totally awesome writers for four days and talk shop. How cool is that?

  1. I wish. The closest I'll get this weekend is ComicCon in San Diego... and I'm not even going to that!

    Have a fun time, Janice!

  2. I can't afford RWA, but I live in the area. My wife is organizing an outing to Jellyrolls on Thursday with some of her author friends--Anne Aguirre (and a couple of her friends), Lucienne Diver (who I believe is your agent sibling), and Allison Pang are onboard so far, I think. I don't know if you any of those people and I realize I'm an internet stranger, but JellyRolls is a pretty public place and if I turn out to be boring or smelly there's always great music to entertain you. Would you care to join us?

(Sarah F., I know you're gonna read this. In case you didn't see Lisa's invite on facebook, you're certainly welcome to join us.)

  3. I will be at RWA! I'm excited you're going too! I will definitely say hi. I don't write romance either, but I heard this is one of the best conferences for any writer.

Haha Joe! (We know each other IRL) Yep, I'm pretty sure I'm going to Jellyrolls and, Janice, you are more than welcome to join us! Let me or Joe know if you want more info. sarah.n.fisk at gmail dot com.
