Okies, it's officially One Week until release. (eeek!)
My head is spinning with all the stuff that needs to be done, so I thought it might be fun to share this with you guys so you can see all the craziness leading up to a book release.
I'll step back a few days to mention the SIBA trade show I was just at on Sunday, as that really started off the whole crazy week. I break it down on the Healing Wars blog, so I won't go into too much detail, here, but it was a great event and I had a great time and I hope they invite me back next year.
So, at 7 Days and Counting, this is what I'm doing today:
Finishing up the final tweaks for the UK version of the website, which I've been meaning to do for the last several months. It will go live this week, finally.
Checking in with all the wonderful folks who have asked me to guest blog, do an interview or a review the last few months. If you talked to me about doing something and I didn't send you an email today, drop me a note! I tried to be good about keeping track, but things do fall through the cracks. I still need to check in with those who already have the interviews/posts/etc to see if they need anything else from me.
Write my "it was so nice meeting you" emails for those I met at SIBA. A bunch of booksellers asked me about doing a signing or upcoming event, and I want to make sure I follow up on those. Getting out and meet everyone is half the fun of this writing gig.
Finalizing a local school visit. And touching base with another request for a visit to get that rolling. (Georgia schools, feel free to contact me directly about a visit)
Yesterday, my day was too full to even blog (which you may have noticed) I was busy organizing all my SIBA stuff, getting a podcast for my publisher done (I have NO future as a voice actor, but I think I did okay in the end), and signing some contracts and getting them mailed back to the right people. The day was one big blur of errands and running around.
You'll note there's no writing in there, but I hope to get to that this afternoon. Shifter 2 isn't going to rewrite itself!
Sounds like you're super busy, but what an exciting time! Can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteI'm tired just reading that post! But so excited for you. I've already pre-ordered The Shifter, and your guest blog is set to post on FNC on the 6th. (Thanks again for that, by the way!) Anyway, good luck with crossing things off the to-do list. Now get writing!
ReplyDeleteHow cool! That all sounds so exciting. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I just finished reading the ARC you sent me! Now I can't wait for the next book to come out. :) Will send you those questions tomorrow night!
Yay! Thanks Abby and Donna! Ruth, can't wait to read them. Glad you liked the book, too.
