If you're looking for a great conference, and you write for kids or teens, look no further. SCBWI Southern Breeze is hosting it's annual fall conference, and WiK13 is now open for registration. Don't belong to SCBWI? No fear, non-members can also attend, and it's a great way to see if you want to join either SCBWI or the local GA/AL/N-FL chapter, Southern Breeze.
I'm also giving a workshop this year!
Southern Breeze WiK13
Workshop: It's Showtime! Show, Don't Tell
When: October 12
Where: Birmingham, AL
This craft-focused
conference is packed full of great speakers and workshops. This is
a short, one-day con that's a lot of fun and very educational. They
also have a Friday intensive workshop for those who want a little extra
focus.
My workshop is on how to show, not tell, with tips and tricks on how to identify telling in your own work (and how to fix it). I did this one at RWA12 and it was very well received. I still have folks tell me they enjoyed it.
