Then I feel obliged to break 'em up. :)Carol Riggshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14092209912983783974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901370917824739259.post-9086928459053868122011-02-03T15:05:15.744-05:002011-02-03T15:05:15.744-05:00Chicory: Oh good! And it doesn't really have anything to do with poetry :)

Sam: I hope it does :)

Porky: It is. Once you start thinking about the sentence structure, it becomes a lot easier and second nature. I should have mentioned consonance and assonance, but it just slipped my mind. Thanks for the reminder!

Tessa: Anytime :)

Megan: Hehe, hope you enjoyed it! I'd apologize for keeping you up, but I did write it that way on purpose (grin)Janice Hardyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02356672149097741248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901370917824739259.post-89514995177933140182011-02-03T11:17:48.866-05:002011-02-03T11:17:48.866-05:00Great post. I'd probably get more out of it if my head wasn't fuzzy from staying up way too late to finish Blue Fire...I'm going to have to come re-read this one. :)MKHutchinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07715686902529938959noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901370917824739259.post-4163921872448504372011-02-03T11:00:49.435-05:002011-02-03T11:00:49.435-05:00I'm pretty picky about the rhythm of words als...I'm pretty picky about the rhythm of words also. It seems hard stuff, but if it's hard just to feel it, it's then a question of breaking down what you write and looking for the opportunities, then building it back up again, repeating until it comes naturally. Watch sentence length, linking of ideas and natural pauses especially. As well as alliteration, it's worth looking into consonance and assonance.Porkyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00604351052444947490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901370917824739259.post-4321302071106474532011-02-03T10:25:06.317-05:002011-02-03T10:25:06.317-05:00Getting away from writing "lists" is som...Getting away from writing "lists" is something I know I struggle with.
