The quiet tropical islands, the food, the Mayan ruins.... it's heaven on earth.

Okay, I might be a little biased since I lived down there when I was a kid (my crazy parents moved down with five kids for a year of mission work), have been back a dozen times, some of my co-workers are Belizean and my sister met her husband while teaching there.

But really it's the type of place that gets in your blood.

Let me know if you ever make plans to go and I can pass along some recommendations (I will steer you clear of the balcony where I snapped my arm as a teen) :)MeganRebekahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03285116194891827858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901370917824739259.post-61342462380474264682009-05-12T17:27:00.000-04:002009-05-12T17:27:00.000-04:00Sky diving was fun and I definitely recommend it. ...Sky diving was fun and I definitely recommend it. You don't even feel like you're falling since you're up so high. I haven't been to Belize yet, but I have heard it's beautiful.Janice Hardyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02356672149097741248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901370917824739259.post-11107517722185318932009-05-11T18:23:00.000-04:002009-05-11T18:23:00.000-04:00I'll take my chances as surface bait with my snork...I'll take my chances as surface bait with my snorkel any day over the scary depths of deep water. I don't mind heights and want to sky dive one day, but there's just something about diving underwater with just a canister of air that freaks me out. I would be the person having a panic attack one hundred feet down.

Have you gone diving down in the Belizean Cayes? Once again, being a wimp, I only do the snorkeling, but they have the second largest barrier reef in the world. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it as a future diving trip. Even without the islands, Belize is the most spectacular country I've visited.MeganRebekahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03285116194891827858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901370917824739259.post-5090155329264430312009-05-11T08:05:00.000-04:002009-05-11T08:05:00.000-04:00Oh how cool! I do have a T-shirt though :) Spring diving is pretty amazing, but the water is just too cold for me. But it would make a great setting. It's funny, I can dive, but I don't like to snorkel. I feel like bait up there on the surface! An...I just read through your website - good stuff!

And I have to say - Go Gators! I was born and raised in Ocala (back here again after some years away in Tampa) and have been going to Gator games since I was two. We went to the Orange and Blue Debut game a few weeks ago. Backup QB John Brantley is friends with my little brother so it's always a little surreal to see him out on the field looking like a superstar, and then in church on Sundays like one of normal folk.

Did you ever go diving at the Devil's Den in Williston? I just snorkel there (the thought of being submerged underwater for long periods of time scares me to death) but it's amazing. I'm actually using the campground as a location in my WIP because I love it so much.MeganRebekahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03285116194891827858noreply@blogger.com
