But as to your last, what about a YA romance about a vampire zombie unicorn in a post-apocalyptic world??!

Best,
DarioAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901370917824739259.post-92054570779048620842015-08-30T18:46:19.514-04:002015-08-30T18:46:19.514-04:00I can't say that I have never considered writi...I can't say that I have never considered writing in a popular sub-genre or niche... but usually I wait a while and the feeling goes away. The way I see it, if my heart isn't in the writing, readers will be able to tell. It won't light the same fire inside them as something that I am passionate about.

So I'll continue to write about the issues I am passionate about in the sort of novels I want to read. I think in the end that will be more successful than chasing unicorns.

Not to say that I won't someday write something about unicorns... or vampires... or post-apocalyptic society... I won't rule them out!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04217192664906748187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901370917824739259.post-9930323785996144192015-08-28T12:40:21.507-04:002015-08-28T12:40:21.507-04:00Argh, sorry for the glitches...

A historical novel that became--to everyone's surprise--a huge hit and went on to be fimled by Anthony Minghella, no less, with a star-studded cast. Follow your passion, and all my wishes for huge success :)

Best,
DarioAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901370917824739259.post-19439792387278859612015-08-28T12:29:41.857-04:002015-08-28T12:29:41.857-04:00Good that you're writing what you love, Evolet...Good that you're writing what you love, Evolet. It's certainly not number 1 on any chart--but maybe by the time it's ready to roll, things will be reversed. Even if not, I'm doing what I love. And that IS what it's all about. Thanks for the affirmation.Carol Baldwinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10444182118975929045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901370917824739259.post-27462240150371839912015-08-27T13:49:25.403-04:002015-08-27T13:49:25.403-04:00I've never been influenced by trends, thankful...I've never been influenced by trends, thankfully, just what speaks to me in my dreams or life in general. I was writing YA for awhile and then I kept having a reoccurring dream about a female character...who wasn't a teenager. I've been reading adult romance since I was a freshman in high school and I thought, with this person in my head, it was finally time to try my hand at writing romance. So that's what I'm doing. I've indie-published 2 YA books and while I had planned to do the same for the erotic romance series I want to write, I've just decided to do the whole serial fiction thing and post it in weekly installments on my website.
