I had planned on talking about something else entirely today, but then I noticed that little stat counter in the lower left of the blog. See those nifty numbers there?
Yep, that's right.
Seven figures.
The blog hit one million views this week. (does a happy dance)
I know in the grand scheme of things it's no big deal, but for me it's a milestone, and I feel it's good to celebrate the successes in your life. In four years it's gone from hardly anyone knowing I was here to a decent-sized groups of folks stopping by every day. That's a lot of writers.
Most of these views have occurred over the last two years since the blog's redesign. I had 20,000 views in all of 2009. Not quite 90,000 in 2010. Took off like a rocket in 2011 and growing steady all through 2012. It'll be fun to see what 2013 holds.
So thanks to all of you for making this happen. I appreciate you coming by and coming back, and sharing what you've found here. I've met a lot of great folks (online and in person) because of this blog, and I look forward to the many friends I'll meet in the future.

ReplyDeleteOops! Here I was getting ready to pop the cork on a bottle of bubbly to celebrate my 2,500th page view on my modest blog! (After more than two-and-a-half years of blogging--*sigh*) Good thing I only got the foil off. Oh well, at least my page view trend is upward, albeit ever so slowly.
